Living Witness Award

From time to time we present a Living Witness Award to peacemakers who exemplify merit in peacemaking. This award is displayed in the Regional Office of the Christian Church of Greater Kansas City. Several recipients of the award are as follows:

David Cole, David Downing. AC and VG Cuppy 2001, Ron Faust 2003, Jonne Long 2005 

 Another peacemaker has been added to the Living Witness plague, at the time of Bob George's retirement of 37 years with Barry Christian Church on Sept. 29, 2013.  He combined a pastoral ministry with his prophetic concerns for peace and justice.

The inscription on the award is as follows:

The members and friends of Disciple Peace Fellowship of Greater Kansas City are proud and glad to make the presentation of the “Living Witness Award” to a person who has exemplified the virtues of peacemaking throughout a long and humble journey of witnessing to the validity and power of Christian love.  Throughout both vocational and avocational pursuits, there has been ample evidence garnered from this exemplary witness for this high tribute…

***a faith maturity which serves as a model for all who would walk the Christian path.

         ***a Christian’s heart which burns with a prophetic spirit.

 Note also that Dr. Ronald L Faust was honored with a "Lifetime Peacemaker" award from events surrounding Peace Sunday on Dec. 4, 2011. Rev. Jeff Hon on the National DPF Board and Jonne Long, long time peacemaker bestowed the award. Ron considers this the highest calling for pursuit of values lived significantly.
